what long term care mean to me

the book long term care, defines long term care(ltc) as care for a long period of time for those persons requiring healthcare, personal care, social and supportive services over a sustained period of time. when i think of ltc i think of nursing homes and elderly but it is ovious that long term health care is not just for the elderly but for youth aswell. if a young person get into a car accident and need to be monitored closely their family members might put them in a nursing home so they can get the best care possible. in other words to me long term care can be for any one not just for the elderly.
